Stefan Weinzierl

Room Acoustics, Sound Reinforcement, Virtual Acoustic Reality, Audio Technology
With a diploma in physics and Tonmeister Stefan Weinzierl received his PhD in musical acoustics. Since 2004, he is the head of the Audio Communication Group at the TU Berlin. He has led several international research consortia in acoustics and coordinates a master program in "Audio Communication and Technology" (MSc) at TU Berlin. With many years of experience as a concert pianist and classical music producer, he works as room acoustic consultant for the design of new theatres and concert halls.

Prof. Dr.-Ing.
Jochen Steffens
Audio and Music Branding, Music Recommendation, Product Sound Design, Statistical Methods
Jochen Steffens is a professor of Musical Acoustics at the Hochschule Düsseldorf. He studied Audio and Video Engineering and psychology and earned his PhD in engineering and habilitation in musicology and psychoacoustics at the TU Berlin. In his research, he investigates how we perceive sounds and music, how we can predict human music listening behavior, and how listening influences our well-being as well as our emotions, perceptions and behaviors.

Fabian Seipel,

Acoustic Event Detection,
Machine Learning for Audio Data,
IoT and Embedded Development
Fabian Seipel is a data scientist and machine learning engineer for audio analysis and signal processing within cloud and desktop systems as well as embedded applications and IoT devices. He has worked for several research driven projects at the TU Berlin Audio Communication Group, Sony AG or DB Systel GmbH. His main research interests are focussing on the topic how machines can percept and understand sound environments and how intelligent algorithms and machine learning systems can help and advise people as well as facilitate or automate processes.
